Where the hell is Wakhan?

Wakhan land in the east part of Afghanistan is remote gem, the lost world and ancient passageway to China, Pakistan and Tajikistan. Here only few travellers have even travelled. Wahkan – it was always a part of Silk road, connection between east and west and melting pot of so called “pamir knot” where different ethnic gruops live like Wakhi farmers, transhumance herders and the yurt-dwelling Kyrgyz .

One day Insh´Allah I will go there to satisfy my curiosity about this remarkable place, to feel forgotten, abandoned and often unwanted Afghanistan aan to hear the quiet!

The Oxus is a river whose headwaters, “tell of forgotten peoples and secrets of unknown lands, and are believed to have rocked the cradle of our race.
